Timber windows and doors by Dale Windows have been specified for a prestigious new build family home in one of Berkshire’s most desirable locations.
Just minutes from the River Thames and in striking distance of many historical and charming towns and villages this one-for-one house sits within a conservation area in the Wycombe district.
Galliven Homes Ltd of High Wycombe, together with David Parker Architects of Watlington, Oxfordshire, specialists in the design of mansions and country homes, recommended high performance, thermally efficient Dale windows and doors for this bespoke property. Made-to-order windows including double glazed, flush casements and special shaped dormer windows have given an individual appearance to this spectacular house while a large show-piece window of fixed glazed units in the front façade has flooded the hall and stairs with beautiful natural light.
Dale products are manufactured from premium grade, knot free and sustainably sourced European redwood which is engineered to provide a long life of problem free use with anti-twist, anti-warp characteristics. High quality coatings in a wide range of fashionable RAL colours or stains, together with the strength and stability of the engineered timber, will ensure a long and low maintenance life.
“My client chose a dual-colour paint combination,” says Julian Galliven, managing director, Galliven Homes, “in French Grey externally which blends beautifully with Oyster. Dale supply products with a primer and two coats of microporous paint which saves on-site labour and the factory finish ensures these windows will look beautiful for longer and require less frequent maintenance.”
The elegant flush styling of the Dale windows has contributed to the contemporary, open plan use of space in this property providing unlimited access to the stunning views of Berkshire’s rich countryside. The 4,500sq ft, five-bedroom home has taken three years in its inception and every design detail, from the warm timber floors, to the spacious, bright kitchen layout, glass and timber features, grand split-level, atriumed floor-to-ceiling entrance hall and relaxing family rooms have been lovingly researched by the owners.
Windows were supplied through a local merchant, using the ‘quote-and-order’ system which is unique to Dale. This is an easy-to-use on line system designed for merchant counter staff which provides instant and bespoke quotations that overcome the usual supplier delays, which can be up to three weeks in many cases. Quotes can be easily modified at the trade counter, right down to the opening configurations and hardware, without the hassle of waiting for a new quotation to be generated, saving time and delay at every stage of the estimating and ordering process.
“As a busy builder with discerning customers the Dale product assures a great looking product, built to last, and the confidence for us to work with a supplier that we can trust,” continues Julian. “It’s a formula that works and importantly ensures customer satisfaction.”
