The Project
“We purchased the house in 2013 and shortly after moving in, moved back out!” explains Mrs Grant when speaking of her home in the Hertfordshire countryside.
“When we moved in, the house needed a lot of work. It was roughly 23 years old and no work had ever been done to it. We planned a large refurbishment project and had to move out to complete it faster”.
As the home is situated within a conservation area, Mrs Grant informs how they came across the Dale range, “We had been considering uPVC products initially, however, we were informed by our local conservation authority that any new windows and doors would need to be timber so we undertook some research and became aware of Dale”.
The original windows in the property were poor performing, hard to open and finished in a dark stain which Mrs Grant felt made the rooms feel gloomy.
At the rear of the property, original French doors and casement windows have now been removed and replaced with a large, 4-panel set of bi-fold doors, perfectly opening up the kitchen/dining area and allowing better views of the lovely garden. “I’m a keen gardener so the new bi-fold doors were an excellent choice!”.
Flush Casement Windows
Elegant, new timber flush casement windows in a dual colour finish of ‘Silk Grey’ externally and ‘Signal White’ internally were specified across the property. These were met with approval by the local conservation authority to the delight of the Grants.
Bi-Fold Doors
Original French doors and casement windows were removed as part of the Grant’s refurbishment project and replaced with a beautiful set of timber bi-fold doors. The new doors have been given the same dual colour finish as the new casement windows.
Entrance Doors
Unlike the new casement windows and bi-fold doors, the Grants also opted for new entrance doors in a slightly different colour finish. The new entrance doors are finished externally in ‘Grey Blue’, with the same internal finish as the other products across the home.
