We are absolutely delighted to have won the contract to replace the timber windows and doors of over 100 historic properties that make up the stunningly beautiful 15th Century Wotton Estate in Surrey.
With the main house dating back to 1579, the Wotton Estate sits in beautiful rolling countryside in Surrey’s North Downs. It boasts acres of woods and commons, fishing lakes, a quarry along with over 100 properties and buildings consisting of farms, houses, cottages and barns. The estate has also recently purchased a further 21 properties in a neighboring village.
As part of a major refurbishment project to improve the energy efficiency and thermal performance of the existing buildings across the estate, we have been appointed to replace the timber windows and doors – a project that will be ongoing for the next 3-4 years.
“It’s a fantastic piece of business to win and and an absolute pleasure to be working in such a stunning location and on such a varied and prestigious project,” said Dale National Sales Manager Matt Chambers.
“Every property we will be working on will be different including historic cottages and buildings, some steeped in history, others more modern. Each property that needs windows and doors replacing will have them made-to-measure by our team and we are working closely with Cedarwood N A R Ltd, which is overseeing the project, to ensure the right products are installed that are both sympathetic to the situation and that replicate the original fenestration as closely as possible,” added Matt.
Project managing the programme of works is Noel Ashton-Rickardt who is director of Cedarwood NAR Ltd.
“This is part of a major rolling programme of improvement works that we are undertaking right across the estate’s property portfolio. We selected Dale for the project based on a number of reasons – the main one being the level of care and attention they deliver in tandem with quality of the products they manufacture,” said Noel.
“Given the age and diverse styles of the properties we are looking to upgrade we have to be extremely sensitive in what we do and the level of service we receive from Dale, with members of the team coming out to look at every property with us, is extremely important and a really valuable element of this project,” he added.
