“We purchased the bungalow that was on this site roughly 5 years ago. The property was built in the 1960s and was quite frankly, ugly. So, we planned to demolish it and build a new family home to then sell on” explains Mr Hancock, who has recently finished works on this new build home in the Cotswolds.
With the luxury of a blank canvas to work on, Mr Hancock took his time to ensure every element of the new design was to his exact requirements and matched the picture he had built in his head. “We went back to the planning committee a few times until we were completely happy with how the house would look”.
When it came to the specification of the windows and doors, Mr Hancock had originally been made aware of Dale Joinery through his local builders merchant. “Following their recommendation, I used Dale on a previous development I managed. I was very happy with the finished result there and so they were the natural choice for this project”.
Opting against a traditional ‘White’ finish, the new windows and doors for this home were specified in the shade of ‘Grey Beige’, a fitting accompaniment to the render and traditional Cotswold stone finish applied to the property.
At the rear, with a large garden to boast, French doors and a large six-panel set of bi-fold doors were installed in the same colour finish. Opening up the living areas to the patio and garden provides a perfect living opportunity for a young family and/or those with pets.
This opportunity was seen early on by a lucky individual as Mr Hancock comments “the property was sold around three quarters of the way through. There was still a few months’ worth of work to do at that time”.
“Overall I am very happy with how the house has turned out and am equally happy with the new windows and doors from Dale. Everyone at Dale was very professional and a joy to work with” Mr Hancock concludes.
