Jamie Thompson, a previous customer of Dale Joinery, has recently completed large renovation works on this 1930s property in the Suffolk countryside. “When we purchased the home, almost everything needed updating. Only the walls have remained, with everything else replaced and rewired to bring it up to modern standards” Mr Thompson comments.
This property originates from the pre-war period in the 1930s, with a smaller part of the home finished following the war in the mid 1940s. As such, it presented Mr Thompson with a project that was not something he usually undertakes. He specialises in high quality, smaller developments of new build properties which have an average selling price of £750,000. However, after seeing the potential of this house, he was keen to get to work and add value. “As so much work was needed, I lived here during the renovations which allowed me to manage everything very closely”.
As Mr Thompson is a builder, he manages all of his projects himself and has built a pool of trusted suppliers that he likes to use, which includes Dale Joinery when it comes to high quality fenestration products.
“The property had timber windows originally and it really needed to be replaced with timber again. Any other material wouldn’t be right for the architecture and period of the home” Mr Thompson explains.
After speaking with the Dale team, timber flush casement windows and French doors were specified in ‘Pure White’ and installed across the property. “Dale did a really good job of matching the style and design of the original windows. The finish is so good that some people think they are plastic. But when they get up close to see them properly and touch them, the quality shows, and they can tell the difference”.
“I’m very happy with the look of the property now, it is much smarter and neater” comments Mr Thompson.
With the renovation work on this property now complete, Mr Thompson is looking to put it on the market for sale and move on to his next project.
