Our timber doors are packed full of innovations to make sure they perform incredibly, from the engineered timber to the multi-point locking system.
The multi-layer timber is the strength behind our wooden doors. Whether partially glazed or all timber, all the doors are made using engineered timber – a very rigid wood that is created from multiple layers of European Redwood. Naturally water repellent the timber is layered with the grain of each section opposite that of it’s neighbour – this old yet cunning technique creates a timber product that is tough, strong and does not twist or warp, and has been used to build churches and bridges all over the world.
The multi-layer timber is then protected from the weather by a factory applied paint or wood stain. Several coats are applied to achieve a smooth and precise protective barrier that needs minimal cleaning and inspection to guarantee the timber doors for many years. After 8 years (5 years for the wood stain) the paintwork needs only a good clean and a single coat of paint to renew the protection.

For a fully coordinated look we have different colour hinges and thresholds. With the extensive range of door accessories it is possible to create any style from modern to traditional or a mixture of the two.
When there is a glazed panel in the door, as for Victorian front doors and modern styles, we use a top performance double glazing unit as standard. This can be decorated with stained glass effect, etched glass or obscure glass – increasing privacy whilst adding a traditional or contemporary design to the door. The U-Value of our double glazing is 1.1W/m2k, which means that little energy is lost saving money on heating bills, even on a small glass area in a door, this can all help.
A very discrete multipoint locking system with bolts and cams keeps any new door secure and is fitted as standard on all our wooden doors from bi-folding to Victorian front doors.
